EVENT NOTICE
HilltoHarbourRun-Sun 6April- 4.30am- 10.30am
The Hill to Harbour (Fun Run as part of the Newcastle Running Festival) will be held on the above date and time. The event includes 12km, 6km and 2km courses. The event promotes the City of Newcastle and encourages health and fitness and will attract over 3500runners.Duetothesizeoftheevent,it isstagedalongroadwaysandpaths,with one start at Bar Beach skate park and one finish venue Pat Jordan Oval Carrington. To protect the safety of runners the following traffic management and pedestrian initiatives will be in place. During these times you can expect changes traffic conditions on or limited access to:
·MemorialDrive–closed from Bar Beach Ave to Kilgour Ave 4.30–8.30am
·Memorial Drive – closed from High St to Bar Beach Ave from 4.30am – 8.30am (residentaccess onrequest-northbound only) No access during the start of Hill to Harbour 7.50am –8.30am
·Cliff St and the top of TheTerrace–Open always with runners on paths only.
·York Rd King EdwardPark-closed5.45am-9.00am
·Shortland Esplanade–Zaara St to Watt St–OPENATALLTIMES–runnerson beach level paths 8.10am - 9.15am
·Shortland Esplanade-Zaara St to Nobbys roundabout closed- 4.30am–9.30am
·FortDrive–closed- 4.30am– 9.45am
·Nobbys Rd–closed- 4.30am–9.45am
·Wharf Rd from Watt St to Nobby’s Rd from4.30am–9.45am
·Watt St–Scott St to WharfRd–closed to public–open for buses turning only.
·Wharf Rd from Watt St to Argyle St closed from 4.30am – 9.45am (access to apartments from Argyle end via slip lane,cityside)No access east of apartments.
·Honeysuckle promenade–runners on theharbour side path heading west– 8.20am-10.00am(nocycleaccess,residentspleasegivewaytorunners)
·NewcastleMarinaandThrosbyForeshore–runnersonwalkways-8.20am- 9.45am
·Carrington Boat Ramp car park northern end is closed –Sun 6 April 5am- 11.00am. Access to boat ramp from southern side (bridge side)
·Please do not park on any part of the course, as any vehicles parked on the course WILL NOT be able to leave until the course is reopened.
